I Amsterdam Card

Discount on Amsterdam days out

Amsterdam is an astounding city, and even though I have lived here for a long time I keep looking for and finding new things to see and do. Because I spend so much time exploring my hometown, I recently decided to try out an I Amsterdam City Card, which gives you unlimited access to many of Amsterdam’s most popular addresses and you can make unlimited use of public transport in such city as long as your card is valid. I wasn’t disappointed.

How does the I Amsterdam City Card work?

There are 4 card types on offer: 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours. The discounts are the same; it is only the number of days which differs. They will send your card to your home address (anywhere in the world) or you can pick it up on arrival at either Centraal Station or Schiphol airport.

You’re probably wondering why I, a local, would buy this card. Well, even for Amsterdammers this is a great way to save some extra cash. If you buy a 48-hour ticket, visit 3 attractions each day and use public transport to get there you can easily save more than 50 euros. So now and then I buy a 48-hour card and spend the weekend discovering my beautiful city with family or friends.
